Dominique James, daughter of Chicago and Southside sweetheart, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Howard University. She has completed fellowships at the University of California-Riverside, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Harvard Law School, and the University of Chicago. She is a teaching artist who creates word-based multimedia projects and has received grants from the Chicago Artists Coalition and the Propeller Fund. She is a founder of the mutual aid project The People’s Grab N Go and will graduate from law school in 2024.
Whether as an event host, performer, or teaching artist, Dominique seeks to inspire celebration and share joy.
